With the engagement season just around the corner, it’s a good time to consider what venue addresses your wedding vision.
Choosing the right venue is one of the most important choices a couple should take, and we will have a series of posts dedicated to different venue types.
If you enjoy Cape Cod and like the idea of a wedding in а flowering garden, I would highly recommend two wonderful places: the Highfield Hall in Falmouth and the Heritage Museum in Sandwich.
The Highfield Hall is a historically interesting place, built by the prominent Beebe Family of Boston in 1878. The family became rich and powerful thanks to their successful dry goods business. When railroad services started connecting the Cape to Boston and New York in 1872, some wealthy families from these cities discovered Cape Cod and decided to build their summer residences there.
Highfield Hall was one of the first summer estates to be built in Falmouth, and the Beebe family became the richest family in town. Beautiful gardens, carriage trails, and endless woodlands surround their mansion, the first of its kind. Their extravagant way of life (many servants, endless festivities and balls, luxury carriages, etc) was surprising for the modest locals. The Beebe Family story is fascinating. Their home has now become a museum, an activity center, and a charming wedding venue. It can accommodate a reception of small and large groups and has a choice of intimate gardens available for a ceremony.
The Heritage Museum in Sandwich is another opportunity for those who love gardens, flowers, and nature.
With all the flowering varieties planted on its ample territory, it looks gorgeous in any season from spring to fall. In addition to the gardens, the place has an impressive auto museum with a collection of beautiful and colorful old cars, where a cocktail reception can be held. The ceremony can take place near the waterfall at the outdoor stage or on the green lawn.
Both places have big beautiful tents for outdoor events as well as some lovely “Plan B” choices. The catering is provided exclusively by Casual Gourmet, highly rated on TheKnot and the WeddingWire, as well as by the venues
